Bring live performances to YOU!

By Greg Banks.

Deep in the forest, a classic tale emerges and then is radically transformed. Two dynamic actors morph into a multitude of characters including a princess, her evil queen, a magical mirror, a huntsman, and the beloved seven dwarfs. Both lively and imaginative, this new adaptation of Snow White will leave you experiencing this classical story with an entirely fresh perspective while wondering: How did they do that?

A short play featuring world-class puppets, as seen on the Magik stage! Charlie, a night guard, watches over the Magik Theatre’s puppet workshop, where puppets come to life at night. Charlie talks with the puppets on what makes a good story, in hopes of writing their own. The play touches on dramatic structure, conflict, characterization, and other story elements, using hand puppets, headpieces, and marionettes.

This play will also include a Q&A section with students, along with behind-the-scenes demonstrations of different puppet mechanics and types.

Tour FAQS

Can I book a show for something other than a school?

Yes, our performances also make great entertainment at special events.

Do we need to have a stage?

A 20′ x 20′ stage/space is preferred to allow a seamless experience for sets and actors for Snow White! However, only a 10’ x 10’ space is required for Midnight at Magik. We can always adapt to meet your request.

Indoor or outdoor?

Both! Magik Theatre can perform outdoors (weather-permitting) on a covered, hard-level surface. For indoor settings (due to large sets and equipment), we recommend the performance location to be on the first floor of the building. If not, elevators must accommodate our set pieces.

Please note that a changing area/space must be provided for the actors.

Do you require any equipment?

We will bring all of our own equipment! We just need easy access to a 20A power outlet.

How long does it take to load-in?

Load-in by the tour cast/crew takes approximately 45 minutes. Striking the show after each performance will take approximately 45 minutes.

How far do you tour?

At this time, touring programs are available within a 50-mile radius of Magik Theatre. If your location is more than 50 miles away, please contact us at 210-227-2751.
